Membership
At Lord of Grace we understand membership as belonging to a community of believers. And with that comes the joys of mutual support and encouragement, as well as the responsibilities of supporting the church through our gifts and resources. Like any community, we make compromises for each other to live together, and we have our processes for making decisions for the common good and, especially, for living out and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As Lutheran Christians we understand membership as part of living out the commitment we make at Baptism. As it says in our baptismal service:
Do you intend to continue in the covenant God made with you in Holy Baptism:
to live among God’s faithful people,
to hear his Word and share in his supper,
to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed,
to serve all people, following the example of our Lord Jesus,
and to strive for justice and peace in all the earth?
All people who wish to make the commitment to membership are welcome, from any background. We have new member orientation and meetings with sponsors as part of the process. Anyone interested is encouraged to come and experience participation in our worship services, Bible studies and activities. If you still feel called to membership, please contact Pastor Lars.
