Join us for an hour of fellowship and beautiful music featuring classical pianist Lira Makarova along with accomplished flautist Renée Bond. The program will include selections for piano and flute with influences of Russian and European traditions.
Ms. Makarova is a native of Russia who began studying piano at the age of 5 earning her Masters in Piano performace at the age of 18 from Kazan State University in Russia. She has been a U.S. Citizen since moving to Tucson in 1997.
Ms. Bond is a concert artist who has performed in 12 countries including Carnegie Hall in the U.S. She earned her Doctorate of Music Performance from the University of Arizona where she currently teaches.
Lord of Grace is offering times for community, worship, and reflection during the season of Lent. Everyone is welcome to join us for our mid-week worship services and dinners.

Everyone is invited to a special presentation by veteran Tucson graffiti artist Michael Schultz, on April 2nd at 6:30pm. He’ll share his story of getting into graffiti art, how it works, and how he has come to be a leader in Open Space Church in Tucson and the work it does in the community.
For Lent, the forty days before Easter, this year we will continue our series on “Questions for God”, exploring topics of faith, doubt, struggle, and loss. Why do we find God in darkness? Does God really help those who help themselves? Why aren’t we all promised victory?

Come to this free workshop on March 5th at 6:30pm by veteran Tucson artist Barb Mulleneaux. She will be leading us in a presentation on her life, faith, and how her art influences and strengthens it. There is also opportunity to explore some creative activity yourself.

Barb is a lifelong Lutheran and former director of Art for Heart at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Oro Valley. She runs her own business, Barbara Mulleneaux LLC, selling paintings and teaching lessons. Her specialties are plein air painting and pallet knife.

A career painter of extreme-realism, graphic artist, former president of the Pittsburgh Art League, and instructor in children’s art programs, Nancy brings her perspective on faith and art to Lord of Grace. Join her March 10th at 12noon for interactive workshop, art activities for children and adults, and stories of creativity, art, and faith.

Michael Schultz is a veteran urban and graffiti artist in Tucson, having worked in spray paint for years with tagging and murals. He is currently one of the leaders of Open Space Church – a new church plant of the ELCA in mid-town Tucson with an outreach to urban young adults and artists. His works have been featured on San Juan Bautista Lutheran Church in Tucson, Reformation Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, and is a regular contributor to the Tucson Hip Hop Festival.

See art made by the kids at the Lord of Grace preschool showcased in the fellowship hall. Come to the 10:30am contemporary service and hear them sing in worship, and stay after for a fund-raiser lunch hosted by the preschool teachers.

Pastor Roger spent twenty years in the Navy Chaplain Corps, then four years as a hospice chaplain with Carondelet Health Care System here in Tucson. He has served churches in Texas, the Community Church at SaddleBrooke and Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke. Roger and his wife, Sue, have three children, one of whom lives in Oro Valley. He enjoys volunteering Nash Elementary School, writing, and visiting grandchildren in Virginia, Oregon, and locally. The Bucket List isn’t very long, but includes becoming more consistent in writing for his blogsite, and taking more photography hikes in the Catalinas

Celebrate Irish music and heritage with Celtic music on March 17 at both the 8:30am and 10:30am services.
We are collecting items for 18-20 home-bound food bank clients. Many do not have family in the area and rely solely on the food bank for food and incontinent supplies. Needed items include Ensure (chocolate or vanilla), cereal, soup, powdered milk, peanut butter, pasta/sauce and incontinent supplies (bed pads, men’s size large depends, and women’s size medium or large depends).
During 2018, LOG donated 412 pounds of food – thank you everyone who helped feed our neighbors in need!
