Seven Days of Creation Mural
A Different Mural
In 2020 we decided to take this giant back wall of our fellowship hall, facing the preschool playground, and paint a mural that would show creativity, life, and give glory to God.
The idea behind it
The mural was to be bright, visible from the road, and show creativity. As such, we wanted a design that was not overly literal, but would cause you to think a little. So we picked the theme of the seven days of creation from Genesis 1. Seven panels, one for each day.
Each day has the number embedded in it, somewhere, and is done in a different style. Some are realistic, while others are more abstract. Day 6 was done in the style of stained glass, with Adam and Eve in black-and-white tattoo style.
A Partnership with Open Space Church
We asked graffiti artists from a local Lutheran congregation in Tucson named Open Space Church, which focuses its outreach on young adults and artists in the city. Three artists volunteered their time and expertise for the project: Ivan, Boer, and Eroe. It took two weekends, and was done entirely with spray paint.
