Who are we. . . . .
The Lord of Grace Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. We are located at the corner of Cortaro and Ina at 7250 N. Cortaro Road in Tucson, Arizona. We worship every Sunday at 8:30am for a traditional service, and at 10:30am for a contemporary service.
Our mission. . . . . Making Christ Known
Invite • Nurture • Send
Proclaiming the gift of grace through faith.
Nurturing our personal relationship with God through prayer and study.
Being living examples of Jesus’ love through our discipleship.
Our Vision. . . . .
To share our Lords love and grace with all people! We have four specific areas of emphasis for the future: worship, Bible study/prayer, outreach and youth.
How it all got started
Lord of Grace was planted in 1995 to serve as a mission to the new development of Continental Ranch and the areas west of I-10. After an initial period of growth, we moved into Coyote Trail Elementary School, where we held worship for six years in the gym.
In 1981 the Lutheran Church in America purchased land at the intersection of Cortaro and Ina Roads, which at the time was mostly unpopulated. In 2001 construction began on a new building at this site, and in 2002 the new Lord of Grace building was dedicated.
Since then we have continued our outreach to the community, and have grown to include a membership that serves a greater area of NW Tucson and Marana.
After several more years of expansion a second worship service was added, so now we offer a liturgical Lutheran worship, with hymns accompanied by organ and piano, at 8:30am, and a contemporary worship, led by a praise band, at 10:30am.
You will find most of our members are a mix of life-long believers, retirees, young families with kids and several of us who are new to the faith.
