From the President:
I'll be the first to admit it. It's HOT! Welcome to summer in Marana, Tucson and Southern Arizona.
Of course, if your air conditioning isn't working properly, or not at all, it's definitely not pleasant. As you know, we have been having some air conditioner issues. Hopefully, everything has been addressed and we will be good for the remainder of the summer.
Speaking of summer, our July 4th Bar-b-que is just around the corner. It has been a well received event and we are looking forward to another evening of good fun, good food, good fellowship and good fireworks! If you are coming, please bring a dish to share. We hope to see you there.
You will be hearing updates over the next few months about our transition/call process. My plan is to attempt to keep everyone as up to date with the process as possible. During my June Temple Talk I mentioned that I would be in the Fellowship Hall between services to try to answer any questions or accept any comments you may have. I also requested that you contact the office to have your email address added to our digital newsletter list to keep abreast of what's happening at Lord of Grace.
In the coming months we will all be invited to participate in the Ministry Site Profile. This is an opportunity for each of us to share our hopes, desires and wants for Lord of Grace. Again, I turn to Pastor Ed Delph who writes, “Life is generally a both/and, not an either/or. God designed marriage so that both the husband and wife complete one another, not compete with each other. It's not Adam or Eve; it's Adam and Eve. To get the complete picture that is best for everyone, every idealist needs a realist and vice versa. For the whole picture, every Fundamentalist needs a Pentecostal and vice versa... Both sides have what the other needs.” As we embark on this new venture, we will hear many voices with many ideas, suggestions, wants and needs. Obviously, not everyone will be completely happy with decisions made. Please know that you have been heard. As leaders of Lord of Grace, we are prayerfully moving forward, attempting to keep Lord of Grace a growing community of imperfect people who come together to celebrate God's love and strive to follow the examples Jesus set before us. We welcome you, whatever your age, income, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical and mental abilities, or other life circumstances. We invite you to join us as we work on building a supportive spiritual community where we can experience the grace and peace of God, not only for today, but throughout our life's journey.
Amen.
