Dear Lord of Grace Family,
Our church council met on January 20th. Important information and council decisions/items of interest are as follows:
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
· The February 1, 2026, congregation meeting will be held to review and approve the budget for 2026. The council members are providing breakfast goodies, coffee, tea, and juice. Copies of the new budget will be available in the narthex prior to the meeting. Please plan to attend this important meeting, as a church membership quorum is required by our church constitution
· Fellowship Sunday – the next event will be on March 1st with a potluck lunch and fun activities.
· Our congregation meeting to elect new council members and appoint Grand Canyon Synod Candidates is scheduled for May 3rd at 11 am. There will be a joint church service at 10 am. And a light lunch (sandwiches, chips, cookies, and drinks) will be provided.
COUNCIL ACTIONS/INFORMATION
· The organ dedication scheduled for February 15th has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. More information will be provided when plans are finalized.
· The council renewed the contract with American Conditioned Air for annual maintenance for maintenance on our air conditioning units for the period August 2025 to August 2026.
· The main church restroom (across from the pastor’s office) has been remodeled to include an ADA door opener.
· Our property team is working on estimates to redo the chancel steps for easier access to the altar area.
· Two items that the council will be looking at in the coming months include replacing the fire alarm with a wireless unit and repairing the crack in the fellowship hall wall/ceiling.
Our next council meeting will be on February 17th. Anyone interested in attending to learn more about what our church council does is encouraged to do so. Remember – council elections are only three months away, and a number of seats will be up for election.
