‘Let every heart prepare him room’ from “Joy to the World” by Isaac Watts
I have been reflecting upon the arrival of Lent and what I have done in the past to prepare myself during these weeks before Easter. In past years I often gave up a certain food which was a struggle at times. Some years I have committed myself to a new service project. Last year I started a new practice of writing one or more gratitudes in my journal daily. Many years I attend Ash Wednesday and Lenten services. This year I am taking part in a weekly Lenten study with my book club.
During my first week of study I realized that Lent is a time to prepare my heart for what lies ahead. It is a time of reflection and intention. Each of us must decide how to ‘prepare Him room’ as we sang just two months ago at Christmas time. I want to prepare my heart to walk with Jesus through His crucifixion and then through the great joy of His rising from the dead! I believe that taking time to spend in prayer and study each morning will hopefully prepare my heart for the season ahead!
Dear Lord of All,
Thank you for helping us to walk through this Lenten season with you by our sides. May we be open to your guidance as to how we can prepare our hearts and souls to receive your incredible gift of everlasting life. In Your precious name we pray, Amen

The Lord of Grace Prayer Team is always here to help you with any prayer requests you may have. The Prayer Team continues to pray over all prayer petitions sent our way, including the requests entered in the prayer journal in the narthex. The team will also continue to offer individual prayer times after each worship service on the 4th Sunday of each month.
