Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest

We collaborate with LSS-SW on two programs.

Afghan Refugees Co-sponsorship program –co-sponsor a refugee family from Afghanistan, we were matched with a family in April 2022 to help them resettle in the Tucson area. Co-sponsor teams help refugees adjust to life in the U.S. by sharing their knowledge and experience. Through this program, our co-sponsorship team became “first friends” and cultural navigators to newly arrived refugee family.

Backpack, School Uniform and School Supplies Drive – collect essential and urgently needed items for vulnerable students either living with new foster families or starting school for the first time in the U.S.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes

Food and grocery gift card drive of specific Thanksgiving meal items during Thanksgiving holiday. Donations go to known needy families in our immediate community.

Interfaith Community Services

Lord of Grace is a member congregation of Interfaith Community Services – a nonprofit, social services agency serving Pima County, Arizona, including metropolitan Tucson. With support from diverse faith partners, compassionate volunteers and hundreds of community friends, ICS fills critical gaps in human services. We help those less fortunate meet basic living requirements.

Adopt-a-Family

Provide gifts and groceries for families/children in need in our community during the Christmas season.

Feed My Starving Children

We volunteer to help pack food boxes for Feed My Starving Children, see https://www.fmsc.org/, that are sent to starving children throughout the world.
