When the women come to the tomb to prepare Jesus' body, they get confronted by an angel who asks them why they're looking for the living among the dead. They're confused, but soon they realize that Jesus is not off in another plane of existence somewhere, but is here among us still.
If You Had Only Been Here: The Story of Lazarus - march 29, 2020
We can all think of lots of decisions we have made that have had unintended consequences, and we later regret. Jesus had a big one when he decided not to turn around and heal Lazarus, but instead kept on preaching where he was. Lazarus dies while Jesus is away, and when he finally meets Lazarus’ sister, she says the simple, but convicting words, “if only you had been here”.
