Upcoming Events

Habitat for Humanity – Work Day

We will be having a Habitat for Humanity workday on Tuesday, May 26th from 7am-1pm at the Habitat for Humanity indoor site, the CHUCK Center. The CHUCK (Connie Hillman Urban Construction Knowledge Center) is located at 2811 W Curtis Rd (west of I-10 and north of Ruthrauff/El Camino del Cerro). We will volunteer for one day (7am-1pm) to construct wall panels. While no prior construction experience is necessary, some basic skills such as the ability to use or learn to use hand or power tools such as hammers, saws and read measuring tape are helpful. For more information, see https://habitattucson.org/chuck-center/.

We will have information and a signup sheet available starting May 3rd in the Narthex.

We are also planning to schedule a workday at the Angels Crossing (close to Old Father and Ina Rd) build site in September or October. Any questions, contact Chris Kollen at lizzykollen@comcast.net

 Sister Jose Women’s Center Supper

We plan on cooking an evening meal for the residents of San José Women’s Center on Wednesday, June 10th. There will be a signup sheet in the Narthex later during the month of May. We need 4-5 people to volunteer.

Lutheran World Relief – Baby Care Kits

Thanks to everyone for participating in the LWR Baby Care Kits drive. We assembled 12 Baby Care Kits on Sunday April 9th and they were shipped to Lutheran World Relief on April 14th. After assembling the Baby Care Kits, we had a fair amount left over – especially socks. We had left over -- 16 blankets, 1 diaper, 5 towels, 1 bar of soap, 9 t-shirts, 4 sleepers, 2 jackets, 68 pairs of socks. So we decided to keep some of what was left over - the blankets, towels, sleepers, and 24 pairs of socks. The rest will go to Casa de los Ninos. Thank you to everyone for making this such a blessed activity.
